Coax adapters can be used when you have one device that has a different RF connector to another. An example of when you would use an RF Coax adapter would be if you are trying to connect a Wireless Interface Card to an external antenna, but the external antenna has a TNC type connector and your Wireless Interface card has a regular SMA connector. How would you connect these two?
This is where an RF Coax adapter comes in, it would allow you to take one type of coax type connector and convert it to the other, so that then they will be able to connect together. There are a wide variety of RF coaxial adapters on the market. The best way to know what you will need is to obtain an Adapter Identifier chart that shows pictures of what each RF Coax connector looks like. That way you can visually see what you are trying to adapt and make sure the connector type is correct and the genders you will need will mate together. At OddCables.com, we sell a wide range of these adapters to accommodate your adapter needs.
