In the home entertainment market we see a large demand for conduit-ready VGA (video graphics array) or RGB cables. These cables are used to connect computers, projectors, monitors and flatscreens. In the past, most people who used these cables were audio-video contractors and installers who used them in sports bars and presentation halls. Many adventurous homeowners are now purchasing them for their home theaters, with the simplicity of doing it themselves with conduit-ready cable.
Conduit is run through walls, ceilings and floors, usually with several sweeping bends. This is typically done during the construction or remodeling phase of a building. The conduit is metal or PVC tubing, large enough to accommodate a VGA connector. This large diameter conduit can be very expensive.
Our conduit-ready VGA cable reduces costs by using smaller diameter conduit and attaching the VGA connector afterward. When all the construction has been completed, our conduit-ready VGA cable is hooked onto a pull-line and drawn through the smaller conduit. Connectors are then attached with a few pins and screws "and you're done"! The small additional cost of our conduit ready VGA cable is more than compensated by the savings of using smaller conduit.

RF Connectors, a division of RF Industries, introduces its new two-piece N Male connector line. Our new product offering features a quick fitting, cable insertion type connector with a captive internal contact. Minimal cable prep required. The cable conductor easily installs into the captive contact, which is designed for optimum electrical operation. The unique coupling nut has a raised knurl grip for a speedy thread-on attachment and a hex head combination suited for tightening with an open end wrench or torque wrench. All connectors in this series have white bronze plating, which provides a tough non-tarnishing exterior finish that is also cosmetically pleasing. Designed for quick installation with minimal tooling, it is ideal for field applications.
Currently there are four connector products in this series designed to fit Times Microwave LMR®-240 & LMR®-400, Andrew Cinta CNT®-240, CNT®-400 and CommScope WBC®-240, WBC®-400 coaxial cables.
RFN-1006-8I = knurl N-male for .400" cables
RFN-1006-9I = knurl/hex N-male for .400" cables
RFN-1006-8X = knurl N-male for .240" cables
RFN-1006-9X = knurl/hex N-male for .240" cables

RF Connectors, Division of RF Industries, has released two Unidapt universal adapter kits designed for technicians who work with WiFi and broadband systems. Both the RFA-4018-WIFI and the RFA-4028-WIFI kits contain an assortment of thirty universal adapters which include male and female MMCX, N, Reverse Polarity TNC, Reverse Polarity SMA, N, TNC, BNC and SMA connector interfaces. By joining two adapters using a universal center, coaxial adapters can be made with any combination of these interfaces. All adapters feature Teflon insulation, silver-plated machined brass bodies and gold-plated contacts and are designed for low VSWR performance. Both kits contain the RFA-4018-20 universal coaxial cable tester that accepts any Unidapt adapter to test mating cable assemblies. The front LED panel indicates Pass, Fail, Short, Open Conductor or Open Shield. To test free cables, attach each end of the cable assembly to the tester and the cable condition is displayed on the panel. The RFA-4028-WIFI kit has an additional tester, the RFA-4218-20, for Cat5/5E, designed to test straight and crossover RJ-45, UTP, STP, EIA/10Base-T, 100Base-T, EIA/TIA 568A/568B, FDDI, ATM, TP-PMD and Token Ring cables. The Cat5 tester automatically identifies the cable type being tested, and the LED display indicates shorts, open wires, reversed pairs, crossed pairs and miss-wires. Both test kits are housed in rugged, foam-lined, impact resistant plastic cases.

RF Connector, Division of RF Industries Inc., announces the QMA series connectors. Similar in size to the SMA, the QMA has an internal configuration with a snap-on interface and needs no tooling for mating and un-mating. The connector features a sliding snap-lock mechanism that works by sliding the shell back and releasing to lock both connectors in place. This eliminates space between connectors needed for tooling. After they are mated, the QMA connectors can be rotated 360 degrees. Designed to mate with all QMA jacks, they offer good electrical performance up to 6 GHz.
The QMA is available in straight and right angle body styles and feature albaloy plated brass bodies, Teflon® insulation, spring copper alloy outer contacts and gold plated pins.
The QMA series is available with crimp on attachment for RG-58/U and LMR-195 cable (RQA-5000-C straight, RQA-5010-C right angle), and RG-8/X and LMR-240 cable (RQA-5000-X straight, RQA-5010-X right angle).

Technicians in the cellular, PCS, GPS and digital communications fields are finding more requirements for 7-16 DIN adapters. For cellular communications, the 7-16 DIN offers technical advantages over the N or SMA connector interfaces. Capable of carrying high power at high frequencies, 7-16 DINs are larger, more precise, offering more stable electrical and mechanical connections with tighter tolerances and improved VSWR performance. The RFA-4013 adapter kit offers a convenient means to bridge type N devices to 7-16 DIN interfaces on the test-bench and in the field.
This foam lined, zippered kit contains six adapters: RFD-1652-2 (7-16 DIN Male to 7-16 DIN Female R/A adapter); RFD-1653-2 (7-16 DIN Female to 7-16 DIN Female barrel adapter); RFD-1670-2 (7-16 DIN Male to N Male adapter); RFD-1671-2 (7-16 DIN Male to N Female adapter); RFD-1672-2 (7-16 DIN Female to N Male adapter); and RFD-1673-2 (7-16 DIN Female to N Female adapter). All are made of machined brass and feature Teflon® insulation and silver-plated contacts and bodies for minimal intermodulation generation.

RF Connectors division of RF Industries announces a cable tester to detect open and short faults in coaxial cable assemblies. This tester is constructed with the Unidapt® universal connector system that allows testing virtually any connector with the attachment of the adapters from the Unidapt® adapter kits from RF Connectors. The LED front panel indicates Pass or Fail with a simple red light, green light. The tester saves time by indicating whether the failure is due to a short, open conductor or open shield. The RFA-4018-20 is powered by a 9-volt battery. It is lightweight, small, and completely portable for remote site use.
The RFA-4018-20 is in stock with a suggested dealer price of $107.37.
